While most of the MVP talk at the quarterback position has centered around Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, Wilson is quietly putting together an impressive resume. He has thrown for 2,127 yards and 17 touchdowns against only one interception while completing 68.4% of his passes. In nearly every category, he’s on pace for career bests.

Wilson was effective early in Seattle’s 27–20 win at Atlanta last Sunday, throwing a pair of first-half touchdown passes to rookie DK Metcalf and finishing 14 of 20 for 182 yards. Metcalf continues to be a growing piece of the offensive puzzle for the Seahawks (6–2) with 23 catches for 402 yards and is one of three players with four receiving touchdowns.

Chris Carson continues to power the ground game, picking up 90 yards vs. Falcons, and ranks fifth in the league with 659. He has also already set a career-high with 22 receptions.

Tampa Bay (2–5) has fallen off the pace in the NFC South with three straight losses due to a combination of turnovers and shaky defense. The Buccaneers had four turnovers–all by Jameis Winston on a pair of interceptions and two fumbles–and had their secondary roasted for three touchdown passes in a 27–23 loss at Tennessee last Sunday.

Series History

Tampa Bay won the only game these two teams have played in the last five years.

Nov 27, 2016 – Tampa Bay 14 vs. Seattle 5

The Seattle Seahawks were reportedly the only team to place a waiver claim for wide receiver Josh Gordon following his release from the New England Patriots’ injured reserve list Thursday.

Ian Rapoport reported the update Saturday. The Seahawks announced the acquisition of Gordon via the waiver process Friday.

The 28-year-old Houston native recorded 20 catches for 287 yards and one touchdown across six appearances for the Pats after being reinstated by the NFL when his latest indefinite suspension under the league’s substance-abuse policy was lifted in August.

Gordon was the breakout sensation of the 2013 season with the Cleveland Browns, where he recorded 87 receptions for an NFL-best 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games. He’s never been able to replicate that production, however, in large part because of injuries and off-field problems that led to his departure from Cleveland.
